PRIVATE SIGNAL / 2026
Before the paper, he had a perfectly ordinary face—so ordinary that seven cameras saw seven different men.
In 2019, a billboard called him by name. A phone offered him coffee before he felt tired. A camera corrected his smile in real time. That was when he realized the future did not want to know him. It wanted to finish him.
He went home, emptied a grocery bag, cut two circles for suspicion and one for breathing, then returned to the city. The cameras saw cardboard. Strangers saw themselves.
